Christine started writing professionally in 1992. In 1998 her first book, Housecat; How to Keep Your Indoor Cat Sane & Sound was published by Howell Book House. It became the number one best selling cat book in Great Britain. In 2001 her second book, Indoor Cats, was published by TFH Publications, and won the Iams Responsible Cat Ownership Award. In 2003 Your Outta Control Cat, also by TFH, was published, and in 2005 House Cat; How to Keep Your Indoor Cat Sane & Sound Revised Edition, was published by Wiley & Sons. That same book was translated into foreign copy in 2006. |
Influences/Inspirations:
I started writing when I was 9 years old, penning picture books about horses, so I have to say horses were my first inspiration. I can't remember a time when I didn't like to write. IN school, all I cared about was escaping to somewhere else, being someone else, so I would write stories that would take me away from the real world.
Favorite Writers and Artists:
Anne Rice has always been a favorite of mine. Her style is extraordinary. Her writing is almost poetic and her tales intriguing. I also like to read Dean Koontz... otherwise, I tend to like books more by topic and writing than by author. If it looks like a well-written and catching story, I will read it.
Current Projects:
Currently, I am getting together a pitch for my fantasy novel "The Lost Prophecy" because I am meeting with an agent in NYC in October 2011.
Interests:
Cats and horses! I love all animals a lot, but have always had a really soft spot for cats and horses. My expertise in cat care has won my books and articles many awards.
