Author Biography

Joy has wanted to be a writer since she was a child. She remembers writing stories about animals and even making her own books for her family from folded pieces of paper. Later, while still in high school, she wrote an episode for Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, a television show popular at the time. Even though she was only seventeen, she managed to obtain an agent from Samuel French, Inc. and her script made it all the way to Hollywood. “That rejection letter is still one of my most prized possessions.”

Educated as a nurse, she has written a health newsletter for Baby Boomers as well as many medical articles for journals and web sites, even having her own monthly health column at one point. But making up stories has always been her passion. Her first novel Second Chance centers around the many pitfalls of living in a stepfamily. Coming Together co-authored with Joyce Norman is her second novel and she is now at work on her third.

Joy shares her Arizona home with her husband and several fur-kids. “My ideal life would be sitting at my computer, drinking coffee and weaving tales.”

Yes, Coming Together is available now.
Go to my web site to order the signed copies.
The WIP I referenced is called No Other Choice - about the choices we make in life and how far-reaching those choices wind up being. But the other day, this story I had started writing a while ago just presented itself again and demanded to be written with a new twist. I may have to pay attention to it instead.

Wow Joy, I didn't know about your WIP (work in progress). Does it have a working title? Sounds interesting. Coming together is available now? I have to get one, signed of course.
