My career as a writer started in 1980, although I've always written. I've worked as editor, freelance journalist for national and regional print media, festival organizer, publicist, lecture about historical topics from textiles to domestic technologies, teach, and continue to work as a writer, publisher, and artist. I also operate my own publising house, Five Rivers Chapmanry.
